Starting on October 24th, Clients adding new coverages to their existing benefit offering will now be able to take advantage of Sun Life Onboard.
Do more with Sun Life Onboard
All Sun Life Clients with fewer than 2,000 employees will use Sun Life Onboard to set up new benefits for all products (excluding Absence). This includes new Clients setting up their initial benefits, as well as current Clients who are adding new benefits.
Clients adding to their existing benefit offering will now experience the same digital onboarding process previously available to only new Sun Life Clients. Existing Clients will now be able to use Onboard to add coverages to their benefit offering easily and quickly.
Sun Life’s onboarding experience combines easy-to-use digital tools with the expertise of our Implementation Consultants, making it faster and easier to set up benefits. A dashboard highlights next steps, required information and due dates. A clear timeline and streamlined communications provide transparency into the set-up journey. There’s even easy access to helpful resources and education about Sun Life benefits. Sun Life Onboard and our dedicated Implementation Consultants are here to guide your Clients each step of the way.
What will your Clients see
Clients that previously used Onboard
For Clients who used Sun Life Onboard in the past to set up benefits, logging into Onboard again to add new coverage(s) will feel very similar to their initial experience. The onboarding will focus on the set up of the Client's new coverages and will not carry over information from their previous Onboard experiences.
Clients will use their previously issued login credentials to access Onboard. When it's time to start the set up of their new benefits, they'll receive a welcome email with a link to sign in and get started.
Forgot their password? No problem - they can select Have trouble signing in? from the Sun Life Onboard sign in page to reset it.
Clients that are new to Onboard
For some Clients, the digital onboarding experience will be new. These Clients will be using Sun Life Onboard for the first time to set up their additional coverages. They will receive an activation email from their dedicated Implementation Consultant, prompting them to activate their account and sign into Onboard to start setting up their new benefits.
What this change may mean for you
Sun Life’s dedicated Implementation Consultants will continue to guide your Clients in setting up new benefit(s) to ensure an easy and fast onboarding experience.
When adding coverage in Onboard, the information Sun Life needs to capture has not changed. You will find the process mirrors how new benefits are set up in Onboard today. The expansion of Onboard creates consistency in how your Clients set up new Sun Life benefits, resulting in an easier and faster experience.
Please note: Some exceptions may apply. Please reach out to your Implementation Consultant for more details.
