Steps to reinstate in Sun Life Connect
To reinstate a member that was previously terminated, follow these steps in your Sun Life Connect employer portal:
-
From the home page of Sun Life Connect, hover over the Manage Employees tab near the top and select View an employee.
-
Read the Benefit Terms and Conditions, check the “Agree” box, and select Submit.
-
A pop-up window will appear advising that the Manage Employees functionality will be administered in a separate browser window. Select Continue.
-
-
A new tab or window will open. To use the other functions of the website, you will need to go back to the other tab or window.
-
From the Members drop down, select Reinstate Member.
-
By default, you will see a list of up to 10 terminated members listed alphabetically by last name. If you have more than 10 terminated members, you can use the arrows below to navigate to additional results or you can use the search fields above.
-
You can use partial searches such as last name only or even a member’s initials.
-
-
Once you see the member’s name that you wish to reinstate, simply select their name.
-
Use the calendar tool to indicate the member’s reinstatement date. In most cases this date is the first date they have returned to eligible employment. The comment box can be used to enter any other relevant information pertaining to their reinstatement.
-
For example, if the member’s salary, benefit election, or address has changed, you can include this in the comments and a member of our enrollment team will update that information in addition to processing the member’s reinstatement.
-
-
When you are ready, select Reinstate Member.
